Now that I am more capable, more in tune with myself, I feel compelled to capture my own visions. I seek to put onto canvas the trancendental quality that has so affected me, the feeling of a certain atmosphere, of things you know and not know, and a disquieting stillness that stays in your soul.

Landscape is my passion. It is like visual music, quietly persuasive and deeply moving. It creates an alternative space for thoughts and feelings to roam freely. Forms and patterns that seem familiar lead you into a world without reason or expectation. Like creation, endless, evolving and everchanging.

The paintings I created for this exhibition mark the emergence of my own visual style. In Golden Oasis' I attempted to capture things temporal and wild and put it in an enclosed space. By turning the subtropical motifs into a molten image, I created a decorative fascade in an interior. In this exhibition, I hope to explore new forms to transform a space, enhancing the atmosphere and transporting a place beyond mere existence. With this new step, I seek to open up a new approach to perceptions. October 15, 2002
